What Cutline is
Cutline is an independent fan project that shows you, live, who is going through at the 2026 World Cup: group standings and the all-important best third-placed cutline, in one place.
The problem we built it for
With 48 teams and a format where the best third-placed sides also advance, "are we through?" stopped being a simple question. Most trackers show you the eight group tables and then leave you to do the third-place maths by hand, ranking every runner-up-of-runners-up across groups on points, goal difference, and goals scored, on the back of an envelope, while a match is still being played.
Cutline does that maths for you, live. We draw the cutline: the line between the third-placed teams who currently qualify and the ones who do not, and we update it as goals go in, so you can see at a glance whether your team is above or below it.
What you'll find here
- Live group tables for all eight groups.
- The best third-placed ranking with the cutline drawn in.
- A plain-language guide to watching matches from anywhere, including how travelling fans can reach their own home broadcaster.
Why it exists
Honestly? Because we wanted it ourselves and could not find it. Cutline is made by football fans, for football fans, and we kept it free, fast, and free of clutter so a screenshot of the table looks like a finished graphic you would actually want to share. A few things we cared about:
- The cutline drawn for you, so there is no envelope maths mid-match.
- Fast and clutter-free, with no paywall and no signup.
- Tables clean enough that a screenshot is share-ready.
Not official, and proud to say so
Cutline is an independent fan project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with FIFA, the FIFA World Cup™, or any broadcaster. Team names and tournament marks belong to their respective owners. We are just fans who like clean tables and clear answers.
